Tell us about yourself:
Hi! I am Erin Kraly and I am a K-5 Art teacher at Towslee Elementary in Brunswick. I am a mom to two girls and three weenie dogs. My husband and our family live in Brunswick!

How do you support students in northeast Ohio?
Though, I am new to my school, I focus on finding art shows and exhibitions to help get my student’s work out there. I also help with several charity based programs within our schools. My classroom is an open, safe space for all students and teachers.

If you have one goal for students or teachers in northeast Ohio, what would it be and why?
That the arts would be viewed as equally as important to admin, coworkers and students. All students and art teachers would have the opportunities and supplies to create constantly.

What would you consider yourself an expert in and how did you gain your expertise?
I would consider myself an expert in connecting with my students. Finding time to have conversations with them, what they like and dislike and truly understanding them on a personal level.

What is a school, teacher, group, organization or learning community in northeast Ohio that holds a special place in your heart?
The Ohio Art Education Association is a huge part of my life. It created a network, community and family of art educators for me. It has given me life long friendships and also the opportunity to express myself and grow as an educator.

Why are you excited to be part of the #weteachCLE community?
I am excited to connect with teachers outside of the art field in hopes to create interdisciplinary connections within my curriculum.

What is your favorite space in northeast Ohio?
The Farmer’s Table in Medina – it has Ahhhhmazing food and everything is sourced locally.

Is it called soda or pop?
Pop

Share with us your favorite way to combat the Sunday Scaries.
I usually spend Sunday doing laundry, watching football and spending time with family. I really try hard to not do school anything on Sundays. I go in early on Monday to get settled and ready for the week instead of doing it on Sunday. Take time for family and friends AND yourself.
